Trim did not know what to expect from Dunboyne as this is their first year in Senior ranks, having deafed Trim in the Senior League at the beginning of the year, was going to give Dunboyne some confidence.
Trim started the scoring with a point from play from Christine O'Brien, it was not to long before Kate Carroll got one of Dunboyne's goals coming from a scramble in front of goal. Dearabhla O'Carroll who's work rate could not be faulted got the next two points one coming from a free. Trim sub. Yvonne Quinn put over from a free before the interval to give Trim a 1 point advantage going in at half time.

On the restart it was Dunboyne who looked the more dangerous with a point from centre field player Fiona O'Neill, Blaitain Joyce kept Trim in things, with a point from close range. It was Dunboyne who rallied with Siobhan Synon & Aoife Thompson working well in the half back line, moving the ball down field to put Maire Carroll in the right place at the right time to get Dunboynes second goal and give Dunboyne a two point advantage. Trim did try hard but failed to get the scores. Aoife Thompson put over a point from a free for Dunboyne. This really put Trim under pressure as there was only eight minutes remaininig, Dunboyne cleared and blocked well in the closing stages but it was Lynn Winters playing at full forward from Trim who gave them the life line they needed, with a point from play and finished with a goal which came in from a side angle, that went in by the Dunboyne goalie Theresa Clince, who had up to that point, a great game in goal. Trim finished with a lucky escape against Dunboyne on a one point victory.
